Arts & Crafts was a movement that started off during the mid-19th century as a response to a series of negative social changes brought on by the Industrial Revolution, which forced people to long hours of harsh jobs.
At that time, Arts & Crafts practitioners promoted the use of handcraft and natural sources as opposed to machine production, creating works of very high quality, and therefore they soon begun to be viewed as a bulwark against the harsh conditions of industrialization, a regenerative spiritual haven, and the locus of the traditional family unit. This is the reason why - even nowadays - most people associate "Arts & Crafts" with hand-made objects.
Creating something on our own gifts us with a great sense of accomplishment and pride and teaches us how to always be creative and be able to look at things through a different prospective.
Drawing, painting, sticking, creating and crafting are great for the brain and soothing for the soul!
D&A offers active and stimulating Arts & Crafts sessions for children and teenagers aged 4 to 18, in infant, primary and secondary schools. Plus private classes at your own place, ideal if your child is preparing for an audition or a performance.
Highly qualified and experienced teachers will go directly to your school and home. The aim is to make the benefits of expressing ourselves through the art accessible to everyone, no matter what, promoting the development of self-confidence and self-esteem to those very young people who will lead our tomorrow.
